The 15-year-old son of Aime Alvarado Salinas allegedly killed his mother on Friday and later confessed to Texas police. Police are investigating the crime and trying to figure out a motive for the tragic killing. According to reports, the boy has not been officially charged yet.
Texas police were called to a home on Lynnacre Drive in Dallas, Tx. after they received reports of an abandoned child. Alvardo Salina’s two-year-old granddaughter had been left on the steps of her great-grandparents’ home by an unknown individual, according to police reports.
The elderly parents became concerned about their daughter’s well-being and asked police to do a welfare check. According to them, she wouldn’t have dropped off her granddaughter without telling them. When officers arrived at the Texas home, they found Aime Alvarado Salinas with a gunshot wound to her head.
During the course of their investigation, Dallas police determined that the suspect was Alvarado Salinas’ 15-year-old son. Officers were able to track down the young boy and later arrest him for the crime.
“Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the victim’s 15-year-old juvenile son had shot and killed her and took the child to the great-grandparent’s home after committing the offense,” said a report by the Dallas Police Department.
After allegedly shooting his mother, the young boy drove his mother’s vehicle to a friend’s house where he was later picked up by police. Dallas police officers said that the boy didn’t put up a fight and later confessed to the killing.
Officers have not released the boy’s name, since he is a minor, and they have not released his relationship with Aime Alvarado Salinas’ granddaughter. Dallas police continue to look for a motive.
