Nickelodeon star Alexa Nikolas, best known for her role as Nicole Bristow on Zoey 101, is suing her ex-husband, singer Michael Milosh, on multiple charges of preying on her as a minor, sexual battery, assault, grooming, and manipulation.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, Alexa called her ex-husband of five years, “a libertine musician who preyed on the innocence of a minor fan to manipulate and coerce her into succumbing to his repeated sexual assaults of her.”
Michael Milosh, a Canadian who performs songs with the pop group Rhye, is claimed to have “utilized his power” over her through “years of sexual grooming” to manipulate her into marrying him in 2012 when she was just 19.
Alexa said she reached out to Michael Milosh when she was 16-years-old while filming the 2009 television version of Steven King’s Children of the Corn. He responded quickly and Alexa said the 31-year-old immediately transitioned their conversation into one more sexually explicit.
“Upon gaining her trust, Defendant Milosh terrorized, sodomized, and abused [Nikolas] as part of his continuous conduct aimed at satisfying his prurient and economic desires,” the lawsuit claims. “”As a minor lacking experience with sexuality, Nikolas could not realize the acts of assault as they were occurring and instead, trusted Milosh, and followed his lead.”
They first met in person right after she turned 18. Alexa claimed that he sexually assaulted her and refused to stop against her wishes. Between 2010 and 2011, Michael is said to have forced her into allowing him to film them having sex. Alexa claimed that part of the audio from the recording is heard on his song, “Don’t Call It,” from his record Jet Lag. Recorded years later, she said that you can hear her saying “no” in response to him penetrating her, which was put into the song.
The lawsuit, filed by Los Angeles County Superior Court, also claims that Michael’s record labels and management companies enabled him and continued to support his misconduct financially during this time, “despite knowledge that Nikolas was a minor and continuing to suffer abuse even after the age of majority.”
This past March, Alexa brought the allegations forward on a public Instagram post, where she also mentioned that at the release for the album Jetlag, Michael had displayed large, nude photos of her that she did not give her consent to use for promotion.
“Milosh proudly told attendees of the party that they were listening to Nikolas during coerced anal sex throughout his entire album,” the lawsuit stated. “Not surprisingly, Milosh did not disclose to his guests that he obtained these recordings when Nikolas was highly intoxicated and incapable of refusing.”
Alexa Nikolas’ mother was in attendance for the album release party, and is said to have left in disgust of Michael Milosh’s comments and actions.
“These industry professionals lauded Milosh in his ‘art’ with reckless disregard to the severe psychological damage suffered by Nikolas,” the lawsuit claims.
Michael Milosh has yet to comment on Alexa’s allegations. She is asking the court for “past, present, and future general damages in an amount to be determined at trial.”
Other than her appearance on the acclaimed Nickelodeon show Zoey 101, Alexa Nikolas has appeared in a 2002 Ted Bundy film, three episodes of AMC’s The Waling Dead as “Haley,” and an episode of AMC’s Mad Men as the character “Wendy.” She is currently working on her short film series, Metanoia, which “translates an interest in mythology, time, dreams, and nature while delving into notions of perception.”
The couple split in 2016, but the divorce was not finalized until 2019. Alexa Nikolas is now married to fiancé Michael Gray, whom she recently had a daughter with named Nova.
