Angela Kukawski, a former business manager for Nicki Minaj and the Kardashians, was allegedly killed by her boyfriend, Jason Barker. Police have arrested the 49-year-old man on one count of murder and one felony count of torture. Officers are investigating the crime to understand what happened.

According to reports, the LAPD had been investigating Angela Kukawski’s death for a week before they arrested Jason Barker. The boyfriend is being held on $3 million bail and is set to appear in court on January 12, 2022.

“Detectives believe that Barker killed the victim inside their Sherman Oaks residence, placed her inside her vehicle, and drove to Simi Valley,” the LAPD said in a press release.

Police reports allege that Kukawski was killed sometime between Dec. 21 and Dec. 22. Officers found her body in the trunk of her car on the 1500 block of Patricia Avenue in Simi Valley. She had been reported missing the day before.

“At about 2 a.m. on December 23, LAPD investigators contacted Simi Valley Police and said they were coming into our jurisdiction on this investigation that was initially characterized as missing person investigation,” Simi Valley Police spokesman Officer C. Nicholson said. “About an hour later, LAPD recontacted Simi Police and said they located the missing person, but unfortunately she was deceased in the car.”

Officers believe that Barker killed his girlfriend at her home in Sherman Oaks, Calif. They believe he stuffed her body in her trunk and then drove her to Simi Valley before dumping the body and car there. The 49-year-old reportedly had family in the area.

LAPD has not released a lot of information about why they think Jason Barker killed Kukawski, and a potential motive is unclear. The cause of death for Angela Kukawski is also unknown. Prosecutors allege that Barker used a knife and a gun for the crime.

Before her death, Kukawski, known as Angie to her friends, worked for Boulevard Management in Woodland Hills, Calif. and reportedly worked with many high-profile clients, including the Kardashian family, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, and Tupac Shakur’s estate.

Her co-workers called her driven, hardworking, and beloved. Boulevard Management handles account and financial management for celebrities, athletes and other members of the entertainment industry. Her former company issued a statement after her death.

“We are saddened and heartbroken by the loss of our colleague, Angie Kukawski,” Boulevard’s Todd Bozick said in a statement to Variety. “Angie was a kind, wonderful person, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Our deepest condolences go out to all of Angie’s family and friends.”

According to the Kardashian family, they no longer worked with Angela Kukawski before her death, but they said she was amazing at her job.

They said, “Angela was truly the best. She cared about every one of us and made things happen that were impossible. She will be greatly missed, and we send our sincere condolences to her family and loved ones during this most difficult time.”

Angela Kukawski was a mother of five. Her family has not released a statement since her death.

This is not the only criminal activity that has been connected to the Kardashian family in the last week. Kylie Jenner had a stalker arrested outside her home this week. She had filed a restraining order against the stalker, who ended up being obsessed fan, Jrue Mesgan.

TMZ reported that Mesgan walked up to Kylie’s Beverly Hills home on Sunday and rang the doorbell, hoping for the best. The obsessed fan was spotted by a security guard who later called the police.

This was not the first time that Mesgan had tried to gain access to Kylie and her family. Over the last month he had gone to the home many times, trying to see the reality TV star. On Dec. 13, he came to Kylie’s home with flowers and asked for her hand in marriage.

Kylie was granted a restraining order after the first couple appearances of Mesgan because she said that she was worried about the safety of her daughter, Stormi, and herself. Because Jrue Mesgan violated the order, he was arrested on a misdemeanor charge and has a bail of $20,000.
