Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani finally revealed some wedding details! Though Covid-19 has made it difficult to host large-scale events, Gwen and Blake are hoping to be married this summer.
On Today With Hoda & Jenna, the country star explained that “I’m afraid if [Gwen] and I wait until next November, then I’m right back into The Voice cycle again and I really want to be able to have plenty of time before and after, so hopefully this summer,” he said. “I think we’re right here at the point with Covid, it looks like it may be OK, but I don’t know. So, that’s tentatively the plan. So, we’ll see. I’m going to say we are.”
The summer date has not been set yet, but it seems like the couple will be at the altar soon. Gwen said the wedding isn’t going to be as big as fans might expect. “It’s gonna be like, my mom and my dad and just literally gonna be just family,” Gwen said during Thursday’s episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers. “We are looking forward to that though. It’s gonna be fun. We’re gonna make it really fun.”
“But it’s not gonna be a big, like, you know, it’s not like the queen and king are getting married or something,” Gwen continued. The guest list is still up in the air, but she confirmed it will primarily be family and friends. She doesn’t like the idea of hosting a Covid-19 super-spreader event or forcing guests to wear masks.
The country singer and the No Doubt lead vocalist got engaged back in October. The music stars met on the set of The Voice, but things didn’t heat up until a year later after Gwen and Blake separated from their significant others. The two made things official in 2015, and they have been extremely public about how much they adore one another. After plenty of romantic walks across the red carpet and loving duets performed in front of millions, it’s about time they get hitched!
Gwen gushed about her engagement to Jimmy Fallon, saying “it was actually pretty magical.” She was taken by surprise when Blake Shelton dropped to his knee at their ranch in Oklahoma. “We ended up making it all happen, and we were all here at the ranch.”
The engagement ring Blake slid on Gwen’s finger was a sizeable rock. After seeking approval from Gwen’s three sons – Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo – Blake purchased an AMAZING ring. According to Good Housekeeping, the ring is worth anywhere from half a million dollars to about $800,000, depending on the exact weight and quality of the diamond. Stefani answered with “yes please!” on her Instagram post. Can you blame her?
During a Late Night With Seth Meyers appearance, Gwen addressed rumors that a Maroon 5 singer could sing at her nuptials. “We would love to have Adam sing at our wedding.”
In December, Blake also appeared on Meyers’ show. The singer echoed his fiancee’s comments: “Adam Levine’s gonna have to get the band together and come and play our wedding.”
Blake joked that Maroon 5’s “music is so boring that it won’t distract from the festivities and the reception.” The conversation about Adam’s performance at the wedding continued in March when Levine went on Sirius XM’s The Morning Mash Us. The former Voice host said that Blake and Stefani “can’t afford me.”
Adam joked that he “would love” to play at their wedding, but that “they won’t ask me … They’ll probably get like Luke Bryan or somebody.”
Whether or not Adam sings, one thing is for certain. Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani can always reach out to Miley Cyrus for a performance!
