Bones Day, the latest TikTok trend, isn’t a new holiday, but more of an adorable indication from a fortune telling dog that tells fans if their day will be good or bad. Like Punxsutawney Phil on Groundhog’s Day before him, Noodle the Pug, a senior, 13-year-old dog, uses his wise pup wisdom every morning to decide the fate of our days.

The rules are simple. If Noodle’s owner, TikTok user Jonathan Graziano (@jongraz), can lift his dog out of bed in the morning and Noodle remains standing, it’s a “Bones Day.” Noodle has enough energy today to make the most of it and so should we. However, if Noodle slumps back down into bed, it’s a “No Bones Day.” Today might be a little more difficult, and that’s OK!

Jonathan Graziano posts the TikTok videos of Noodle the Pug every morning, telling viewers, “Welcome back to another round of ‘No Bones,’ The game where we find out if my 13-year-old pug woke up with bones.”

“As a result,” Jonathan Graziano said, “we find out what kind of day we’re going to have.”

The joke that his senior dog may slump back into bed as if he had “no bones,” quite adorably works as a play on doggie bones, a favorite snack for the household pet.

Today (Monday) was a “Bones Day,” so hope everyone was able to make the most of it. “Okay, it’s a ‘Bones’ day on a Monday, you guys, this is so exciting,” Jonathan Graziano said in Monday’s video. “You know what to do, you’ve got to treat yourself today.”

“That raise you deserve but haven’t asked for it yet? You totally deserve it,” he continued. “Ask for it!”

Don’t fear if it’s a “No Bones” day tomorrow, however. Jonathan says that it doesn’t mean you’re allowed to stay in bed all day, but that “you have permission to flop on plans or activities if you don’t wanna do them.”

Jonathan Graziano and Noodle the Pug have become TikTok famous from their videos, and the #NoBones hashtag currently has over 155 million views on the social video platform.

“I just found a TikTok account dedicated to waking up a pug named noodle and if he flops over it’s a ‘no bones’ day and if he stays upright it’s a ‘bones’ day AND PEOPLE CHECK THE BONES FORECAST LIKE IT’S A HOROSCOPE I AM CRYING,” one Twitter user explained in utter disbelief.

“I do not believe astrology affects my day,” one Twitter user commented, “I DO believe bones vs no bones does though.”

A Veterinary Technician wrote saying that they “write on our treatment board if it’s a bones or no bones day.” Another commenter wrote “Noodle pls, I have a law school midterm,” hoping for a “Bones Day” result.

hope you all have the best Monday! 🔮🦴 ##nobones ##bonesday ##pug ##noodletok ##monday

He adopted Noodle at 7-and-a-half years old, according to Newsweek, where he started an Instagram account in 2016 @showmenoodz that grew to 44,000 followers. Moving to TikTok in 2021, Noodle the Pug has since become a sensation for simply choosing to wake up or not every morning, now boasting over one million followers.

He told Newsweek that he conceived of the idea for “No Bones Day” after he would prop Noodle up for walks and the dog would simply choose to go straight down if he was too tired to go. “We learned very early on, that when he does not want to go on walkies, he will not go on walkies,” Jonathan Graziano said.

Bones Day just went viral in October however, despite being something Jonathan did off camera since 2016.

“We are all at the mercy of bones,” Jonathan Graziano said.
