Nashville actress Hayden Panettiere was spotted fighting with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Brian Hickerson outside a hotel in Los Angeles on Friday. Despite the brawl, both were reportedly unharmed. But security was forced to push the celebrity couple outside.
Though Hayden Panettiere and Brian Hickerson declined to comment about what happened outside the Sunset Marquis in Los Angeles, a representative for the actress later detailed what went down once video of the incident was obtained by TMZ.
According to the source, “While in the restaurant of the Sunset Marquis, Brian Hickerson, who happened to be with Hayden, made a comment to an individual about leaving the waitress a poor tip.”
“That same individual, along with the group he was with, began badgering and shoving Brian, at which point security pushed everyone outside,” the actress’ representative told People. “Brian was attacked by the group, as was Hayden, who in her best effort tried to diffuse the situation.”
Hayden and Brian were allegedly denied “the opportunity to provide a statement to the police,” but she is OK and did not suffer an injuries in the brawl.
An eyewitness at the Sunset Marquis also stated that Brian was seen spitting on the other patrons after the scene broke out.
In the clip obtained by TMZ, security is shown holding Brian Hickerson back as Hayden yelled “Brian, jail!” She was likely reminding Brian that he is on probation until 2025, following domestic assault charges.
The highly charged couple later left together after the manager threw everyone involved out. Though they arrived on the scene, the Los Angeles Police Department have yet to speak about the nasty fight.
The two have been linked since 2018, according to People, after Hayden split with her ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko. She and the 46-year-old Ukrainian professional boxer share one daughter together, 7-year-old Kaya, who reportedly lives with her father full-time.
She later linked up with Brian Hickerson, a South California real estate agent and aspiring actor, who was later charged with domestic assault.
In April 2021, he was sentenced to 45 days in jail after pleading no contest to two felony counts of injuring the Nashville star in a domestic dispute. He served his sentence throughout May. Then, in July of that same year, Hayden Panettiere confirmed that they were still seeing each other.
“Hayden won’t forget what he did but she wants to forgive and move on,” a close friend of the actress explained at the time.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Brian has a lengthy history of assault, involving cases that were domestic and against law enforcement. In May 2019, Brian was arrested on a domestic violence charge and released on bail, and on Valentine’s Day 2020, he was arrested after punching Hayden. He plead guilty on both accounts.
After his arrest in July 2020, Brian Hickerson was also accused of coercing and threatening Hayden Panettiere from filing a criminal complaint.
“I am coming forward with the truth about what happened to me with the hope that my story will empower others in abusive relationships to get the help they need and deserve,” she later stated on Instagram. “I am prepared to do my part to make sure this man never hurts anyone again. I’m grateful for my support system, which helped me find the courage to regain my voice and my life.”
“For anyone else affected by abuse and needing support, please know that you can call 1-800-799-7233 [the National Domestic Violence Hotline],” she continued. “If you’re unable to speak safely, you can log onto thehotline.org or text LOVEIS to 1-866-331-9474. You are not alone.”
