Dashawn Robertson, also known as Lil Loaded, passed away over the weekend in what police suspect is a suicide, though the cause of death has not been confirmed. Robertson, 20, who’s best known for his up-and-coming rap career, died on Sunday, according to the Dallas Medical Examiner’s Officer.
It hasn’t been confirmed how Lil Loaded died, but Cedar Hill Police is investigating what happened and will likely release a statement soon. Ashkan Mehryari, Robertson’s attorney, pre-emptively declared it to be a suicide, saying that “Mr. Robertson passed away earlier today as a result of a reported suicide.”
It is not 100-percent clear why Dashawn Robertson may have killed himself, but many are connecting his death to his upcoming court appearance later this week. Robertson has recently faced manslaughter charges for allegedly killing his best friend, Khalil Walker. Dashawn Robertson was involved in the fatal shooting of Walker, though reports claim it was an accident. Although Robertson was arrested for the crime, he was currently out on bond.
Lil Loaded posted a cryptic message just before he died, which left fans worried. “Dear most high,” he wrote in a message posted to his Instagram, “please forgive me for my shortcomings and all of the times I’ve fell short of making you proud.”
He continued saying that “sometimes the lines are blurred between being solid and being heartless. I want to thank you for how far I’ve come and the people you’ve put in my life to keep me grounded and humble through everything and I love every single one of those people.”
Though some believe he was worried about his upcoming trial, rumors are spreading across social media, declaring that Loaded’s apparent suicide was due to a startling revelation.
Mymixtapez, a popular Instagram account, shared a message for their followers. “Lil Loaded’s close friend confirmed he took his own life after speaking to his mom.” The suicide reportedly occurred after Robertson found out his girlfriend cheated on him.
“I ask for entrance into your kingdom thru all of my mistakes,” Lil Loaded wrote in his message posted as an Instagram Story. “I know you love all your children, and I’m ready for my heart and soul to join you.”
Though the cause of death is unconfirmed and the motive is still being investigated, Robertson’s good friend and fellow rapper, Cyraq, explained in an Instagram Story that Lil Loaded was in love with his girlfriend and must have been devastated after learning she was cheating on him. The musician then expresses his hatred for Robertson’s girlfriend, who Cyraq says caused Loaded’s death.
The Houston rapper is missed across social media today. The rapper produced a viral hit back in 2019 called 6locc 6a6y, which garnered 25 million views on YouTube. His song was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America last week, and jumping aboard his rapid success was Epic Records, which signed him last year.
