Will Theo Sharpe Return for Season 3?

At the shocking ending of Season 2, fans saw Eloise and Theo stop talking after Eloise was influenced by Penelope Featherington, who said that the ton was gossiping about their taboo relationship. Claudia Jessie, who plays Eloise, said that her character cut things off with Theo because she knew Penelope was Lady Whistledown.

“The only reason they don’t kiss … is because Eloise has Penelope in the back of her mind,” Claudia Jessie told Entertainment Weekly. “Like she says in the fight, ‘I let go of the only good thing going on in my life all because of your self-serving manipulation.’ Penelope really gaslit her into believing that that was a bad thing to do.”

It is unclear if Theo Sharpe will return for Season 3 since his storyline seemed finished. But Shonda Rhimes has told reporters that she’s willing to change the book’s original storylines.

Is There More to Eloise Bridgerton and Theo’s Relationship?

In Julia Quinn’s books, Eloise ends up marrying Sir Philip Crane, the former husband of the late Marina Thompson. While this will disappoint fans of Eloise and Theo, don’t be too worried. Shonda Rhimes and other producers of Bridgerton are willing to change the books’ plots. And Claudia Jessie is in favor of mixing it up.

“I’d love if Eloise could just change the mold a bit,” added the actress. “And just have a boyfriend. It not be because they’re going to get married, but Eloise just be the person that introduces the concept of the partner. Like just the boyfriend or the girlfriend, rather than here’s your suitor, now you get married in a week. I’d love if Eloise could just be like, ‘Oh yeah, I’m dating this guy, Theo Sharpe, pretty cool.'”

Fans of the series can’t get enough of their adorable relationship. Many are hoping that Eloise and Theo will get even closer in Season 3.

One fan tweeted, “idc how things happen in the Bridgerton books I need shonda rhimes to change things up and make eloise and theo endgame bc why tf should girlboss eloise end up with a man who has kids and looks like he could be double her age.”

Who Will Season 3 Focus On?

Bridgerton producers have hinted that Season 3 will not follow the order of the books. According to the third book, “An Offer from a Gentleman,” Benedict Bridgerton falls in love with a mysterious masked woman at a ball.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Rhimes hinted that Season 3 might be different from the novel. She said, “[We] got a little bit creative so we’re already hard at work writing season 3. … That is already in progress, and you’ll see. Give it time.”

The showrunner, Chris Van Dusen, added that they have spent the first two season developing a cast of characters, and changing Season 3’s focus could work better with the show’s trajectory.

Van Dusen said, “I think it depends on story and it always comes down to character for me. I think we do a lot of work in these first two seasons to set up characters in these future seasons and every one of these siblings is going to eventually carry their own season so it’s important to flesh out these characters and set them up for success.”
