Whether you love it or hate it, Emily in Paris is coming back for Season 2 and fans can’t wait to see the drama that will unfold in December. Will Emily finally find true love in the city of romance?
Here are all our predictions for the upcoming season.
When is Emily in Paris Coming Back?
Netflix just announced that Season 2 of Emily in Paris will be released on December, 22, 2021. During the streaming services’ TUDUM event, where they allowed subscribers to learn about new titles that will be coming out in the next couple of months, they also let them see an exclusive clip of the upcoming season. Let us say that the Season 2 teaser trailer looks amazing!
Who Will be in the Cast in Season 2?
Season 2 is set to bring back all our favorite characters along with some new faces. Ashley Park and Camille Razat will still be playing Emily’s friend and rival, Mindy and Camille. And Lucas Bravo is scheduled to come back and play sexy chef Gabriel.
Netflix also announced that it will be bringing in a couple of new characters. Actor Arnaud Binard will play a nightclub owner named Laurent G. Jeremy O. Harris will add some drama with his role as Gregory Elliott Dupree, a French fashion designer and Lucien Laviscount will play Alfie. Netflix hasn’t revealed what part Alfie will play in Emily’s new French coast drama, but we’re guessing it’s going to be juicy.
Lily Collins posted on her Instagram and said that she can’t wait for the next season of Emily in Paris and is excited to work with this amazing cast. The actress said, “So excited to be sharing the screen with this incredible cast. Can’t wait for you guys to see everything that’s coming. You’re in for a real treat. Until then, bisous bisous!!….”
What Will Happen in Season 2?
While Netflix hasn’t given fans all the details of Season 2, they have been generous enough to give a synopsis for the upcoming season. According to Netflix, Emily is vacationing in Saint-Tropez, France with friends, Mindy and Camille. Together, the three girls party it up along the coast and Emily gets entangled in a French love triangle!
Here’s Netflix’s official synopsis for the show:
“Now more entrenched in her life in Paris, Emily’s getting better at navigating the city but still struggling with the idiosyncrasies of French life. After stumbling into a love triangle with her neighbor and her first real French friend, Emily is determined to focus on her work—which is getting more complicated by the day. In French class, she meets a fellow expat who both infuriates and intrigues her.”
We don’t know who this new boy in French class is, but he’s going to have to be pretty special to compete with Team Gabriel!
Will Emily in Paris End This Season?
While Netflix hasn’t said if it will stop the beloved series after Season 2, many fans were surprised that the series got picked up for a second season. Critics of the show have pointed out the various cringy moments of the show, like Emily’s obnoxious behavior and the show’s theme of American exceptionalism, but that didn’t stop fans and hate watchers from tuning in.
The streaming service leaned into the hatred of Emily in Paris and used social media to make the show popular. During Season 1, it was one of the Top Ten Most Watched shows on Netflix.
Despite the Emily in Paris haters, Darren Starr, the showrunner of the series, wants them to know that the Emily in Season 2 has developed into a mature woman. He said, “In season 2, she’s going to be more of a part of the fabric of the world she’s living in. She’ll be more of a resident of the city,” he told OprahMag.com. “She’ll have her feet on the ground a little more. She’s making a life there.”
Guess we’ll have to wait until December to meet the new Emily!
