Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne is dealing with a nasty divorce from her estranged husband, Tom Girardi. Season 11 of the hit Bravo show was filmed back in October of 2020 and aired this May. “I did not see it ending this way,” Erika revealed to her co-stars. “I was gonna hold that man’s hand until he died.”
All of the legal drama came out when news dropped that Tom and Erika were being sued for allegedly using their divorce to embezzle money from plane crash victims. The legal bomb dropped one month after their divorce announcement. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of several families of the victims of 2018’s Lion Air Flight 610 crash. The plane crash in question occurred on Oct. 29, 2018, when a Boeing 737 MAX crashed into the Java Sea, killing all 198 people on board.
Page Six also wrote about Erika Jayne’s divorce, claiming her ex-husband was cheating. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star took to social media to call out his alleged mistress in a tweet-and-delete. Erika posted and deleted photos taken of an old cell phone belonging to Tom, showing off several text messages allegedly sent from California judge, Justice Tricia A. Bigelow to Tom. But it gets even crazier.
Back in January, Erika’s ex-brother-in-law, Robert Girardi, filed to have Tom placed under a conservatorship, claiming that Tom’s “current condition has sadly deteriorated to the point where he cannot care for himself without assistance,” ETOnline wrote. The conservatorship was approved in February. Following that, in March, a psychiatrist told courts that Tom suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, according to The Los Angeles Times.
ETOnline shared this bit from the lawsuit: “While Erika publicly filed for divorce this month, on information and belief, that ‘divorce’ is simply a sham attempt to fraudulently protect Tom’s and Erika’s money from those that seek to collect on debts owed by Tom and his law firm.” The lawsuit accuses Tom and Erika of being in cahoots and faking their divorce.
Erika struggled a lot during quarantine. One of the major life changes was the end of her 21-year marriage. The news seemed to shock her Real Housewives castmates as the 49-year-old reality star dropped the bomb via a group text to her friends and castmates.
Erika Jayne had praised her now ex-husband just five days before announcing their divorce. The 49-year-old reality star made the revelation on Election Day in November 2020 just four days after the cast returned from a group trip to Lake Tahoe. Now all of the drama is coming loose, and the divorce is starting to get nasty.
Most, if not all, of the drama will be addressed on Season 11 of RHOBH. According to the trailers and the most recent episodes, this season focuses a lot on Erika’s messy divorce. Erika hasn’t always been so open, especially about her private life. So now we have to wait and see what unfolds.
