Hilaria Baldwin has made a huge difference in Alec Baldwin’s life since they got married in June 2012. The couple has had six children together since then. And it’s clear the support of his family meant a tremendous amount to him during the emotional Rust investigation.
Recently, the actor’s life has been fraught with drama from the Rust investigation. The investigation is trying to assess why a prop gun misfire in Alec’s hands resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
The photo, which was posted on Thursday night on Instagram, shows Alec Baldwin holding one of his young children.
“No matter what happens to me. No matter what I suffer. If I win or lose, anything. Anything. No one can take away from me the joy and love you have given me,” Alec wrote, tagging wife Hilaria Baldwin.
The two wed in 2012, and she has been a much-needed support system for the actor throughout his career and the Rust investigation. “These are tough times. The world is choked with fumes of hate. But you have given me a reason to live,” he said. “Our life with our family is all I care about. Nothing else. I owe that to you.”
Despite initially refusing to comment on the ongoing investigation at the request of authorities on the case, Alec Baldwin recently sat down with ABC News to claim that he “didn’t pull the trigger” when the gun misfired, or hold it up to the camera.
“I want to make sure that I don’t come across like I’m the victim, because we have two victims here,” he told ABC News. “All of what happened that day leading up to this event was precipitated on one idea, and that idea is that Halyna and I had something profound in common… that is we both assumed the gun was empty, other than those dummy rounds.”
“Someone put a live bullet in a gun, a bullet that wasn’t even supposed to be on the property,” Alec Baldwin said, adding that he “would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them, never.”
“I wanted to come to talk to you to say I would go to any lengths to undo what happened,” he told George Stephanopoulos. “”Someone is responsible for what happened, and I can’t say who that is, but I know it’s not me.”
Named in a lawsuit filed by a script supervisor on the film set, Alec revealed that he did the interview to clear any “misconceptions” about the case, as well as share how his wife and family were helping him heal and grieve in this time.
According to Matthew Hutchins, Halyna’s husband, Baldwin was very supportive with him and with authorities, even remaining in contact throughout the tragic event.
“My heart is with Halyna. Her husband. Her son. Their family and loved ones. And my Alec,” Hilaria Baldwin wrote after the film set accident. “It’s said, ‘There are no words’ because it’s impossible to express the shock and heartache of such a tragic accident. Heartbreak. Loss. Support.”
Before their marriage, Hilaria Baldwin, née Hilaria Thomas, was a yoga instructor, and the two met after Alec Baldwin’s nasty divorce from Kim Basinger.
“My taste in men has changed a lot over the years,” she said around the time they met. “When you’re young, you’re attracted to the ‘bad boy,’ only to find out that they’re actually just bullies or insecure—you’re attracted to fantasies. Now, I’m more reality-based.”
“Showing kindness and humor are the most important things to me now,” she continued. “If you have those qualities then I think that makes you attractive.”
