Did Chris Harrison and Lauren Zima get married? The Bachelor host posted a cryptic photo on Instagram showing his girlfriend Lauren Zima in what seemed like a wedding dress. But they’ve now dispelled the rumors.
Lauren, 33, quickly said: “Love you so much and appreciate all the ‘congrats’! This *bridesmaids* dress is really living above its potential 😂❤️🙏🙏🙏.”
Chris replied: “Wow you attend one wedding together…do one chicken dance and your hitched! Congrats Christine and Kevin on a beautiful wedding and the start of a wonderful life together. I do love this bridesmaid though❤️.”
The Instagram post in question had a lot of fans scratching their heads. “’I’d stop the world and melt with you’” Chris quoted Modern English’s I Melt With You, expressing his love for the beautiful brunette. “Lauren Zima, there’s no one I’d rather celebrate love with and I’ll be your plus one anytime.”
Comments poured in congratulating the newlyweds, but many weren’t sure whether Chris Harrison and Lauren Zima really did tie the knot. “If you got married, I’m here for it and huge congratulations!!!!” Bachelorette alum, Trista Sutter said, hoping the post was an indication at nuptials. “If not, I’m here for it too!! You two are a beautiful pair!”
Based on the post, it wasn’t clear whether the couple took a trip to the altar or not. But Lauren was wearing what appeared to be a wedding dress, and Chris was quick to reference plus-ones.
Chris originally started dating the entertainment reporter by contacting her through an Instagram DM. And they’ve been head over heels ever since. “I never looked at him and ever considered whether I found him attractive,” Lauren admitted.
While Chris is known for being the long-time host of The Bachelor franchise, his love affair with Lauren has gone more smoothly than most Bachelor episodes. “I opened the door and he walked right through,” Lauren told Nick Viall on his The Viall Files podcast. “It all worked out really well and it was also the perfect amount of time. We had a little bit of messaging and he said let’s grab a drink and have real person talk.”
Despite the seemingly easy start to Chris and Lauren’s relationship, the former Bachelor host went through a difficult time during his divorce from his first wife. Chris married his college sweetheart, Gwen Harrison, in 1993 and the two were married for 19 years. They split in 2012 and according to Chris, it was “the most difficult” part of his life. “We grew up together and we have so much history,” he admitted, but the two agreed it would be best to go their separate ways. They did, however, decide to remain friends.
The Bachelor host has also had a difficult six months recently. After seemingly defending the actions of Rachael Kirkconnell, The Bachelor frontrunner who was accused of racist behavior, the producers asked him to take a leave of absence. “By excusing historical racism, I defended it,” he wrote in an Instagram post announcement.
“To my Bachelor Nation family—I will always own a mistake when I make one, so I am here to extend a sincere apology,” Harrison posted on a separate Instagram post. “I have this incredible platform to speak about love, and yesterday I took a stance on topics about which I should have been better informed.”
Chris will be replaced by Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe who will host Katie Thurston and Young’s upcoming seasons. There have also been rumors that The Bachelor and The Bachelorette will end after the planned seasons. But the producers have not confirmed a cancellation.
