Jenna Jameson has lost her ability to walk after she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. The former porn star and her partner, Lior Bitton, explained the diagnosis on Instagram and said that she is currently getting treated for her condition.

On Saturday, Lior Bitton took to Jenna’s Instagram and explained what their family had been dealing with. In his video, Lior cuddled with the couple’s daughter, 4-year-old Batel, and told followers that Jenna can’t walk.

What Happened?

According to Bitton, Jenna had been throwing up for weeks before going to the hospital. Medical staff ended up sending her home, but in a matter of hours she was unable to walk.

“Then she came back home, and she couldn’t carry herself,” Lior said in a video on Saturday. “Her muscles in her legs were very weak. So, she wasn’t able to walk to the bathroom. She was falling on the way back or to the bathroom, I would have to pick her up and carry her to bed. And then within two days, it got really not so good, her legs started to not hold her, she wasn’t able to walk.”

Jenna Jameson went back to the hospital and was able to get testing done to figure out why she was unable to walk. In an Instagram update, Lior said, “Today is her 3rd day in the hospital. The hospital did CT, MRI and Spinal Tap tests. Waiting to find out what’s going on and how we can treat her so she can get better and feel better.”

Doctors later diagnosed her with Guillain-Barré syndrome. Currently, Jenna is undergoing physical therapy to try to stand on her legs. According to Lior, doctors have her on a high dose of immunoglobulin therapy.

On Monday, Jenna Jameson updated her followers with an Instagram video and told them that she’s doing better. The former adult film star said that she saw all her fan’s DMs and she really appreciated the kind words.

She also said that her Guillain-Barré syndrome was not a result of the Covid-19 vaccine, because she hasn’t been vaccinated.

She said, “Hey guys, first of all thank you for all the love and support through my DMs. I see each and every one of you, and I appreciate it. The doctors suspect Guillain-Barré syndrome and have started my IVIG treatment. I am in the hospital and will likely remain here until treatment is complete. I hope to be out of here soon. PS I did NOT get the jab or any jab. This is NOT a reaction to the jab. Thank you for your concern.”

Since announcing her condition, many fans have showed their support for Jenna Jameson. Shawna Craig wrote on her Instagram post and said, “Sending so many prayers your way. I’m so sorry you’ve been so sick but thank the heavens that they’ve found the cause and you can start healing. You are always such a bright light, determined and so positive. I have no doubt you’ll be back on your feet (literally) very soon.”

What is Guillain-Barré Syndrome?

Guillain-Barré syndrome is a rare neurological disorder that causes the body’s immune system to damage the nervous system and muscles. This can cause patients to experience muscle weakness or complete paralysis.

Like Jenna Jameson, many people with this condition discover that they can’t walk and while there is treatment for the disorder, Guillain-Barré syndrome can last weeks or even years. Some people even experience permanent nerve damage.

Doctors don’t know why people develop this condition, but studies have shown that it typically starts after a respiratory or gastro infection. In rare cases, the body may have a bad reaction to a vaccine or a surgery and suddenly develop Guillain-Barré syndrome.
