Jennifer Hough sued Kenneth Petty and Nicki Minaj for alleged harassment after she refused to recant her statement that Petty raped her back in 1994. The woman said that she fears for her life and has recently moved out of her home when the harassment became too much.

According to Hough, the rape occurred in 1994 when she was in high school. She was waiting for the bus when Petty allegedly came up behind her and held her at knifepoint. The two were both 16 years old at the time and knew each other from growing up in the same area of Queens, New York. Hough claims Petty forced her into a nearby house and raped her in a bedroom.

The now 43-year-old said that after the assault occurred, Petty went over to a mirror and said “I’m the man. I’m the man.” Hough went to the police and Kenneth Petty took a plea deal and served four years in prison.

She claimed that she was not targeted by Nicki Minaj until 2018 and the full force of the star’s harassment didn’t start until 2020. In 2018, Minaj and Petty started dating and Hough claimed that Minaj started to say that her boyfriend had been falsely accused of rape and that Hough had recanted her statement back in 1994. Hough denied recanting.

Nicki Minaj has defended her husband since they started dating and many of her fans were not okay with her actions back then. In 2018 she wrote, “He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship. But go awf, internet, y’all can’t run my life. y’all can’t even run y’all own life.”

One fan called the rapper a “lost cause” and pointed out that she’s worked with Tekashi69 who pled guilty to a sexual misconduct case involving a 13-year-old and that her own brother, Jelani Maraj, is a convicted child rapist.

In 2020, after Petty was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender in California, Hough claimed that Minaj’s alleged harassment got worse. Hough’s lawsuit reads, “As a direct result of the actions of Defendant Minaj and Defendant Petty, [Hough] has been traumatized her entire life. Plaintiff has moved to multiple states to avoid intimidation and harassment by Defendant Minaj, Defendant, and their allies, legal teams, and fans.”

Hough claimed that Minaj called her up after Petty’s 2020 arrest and offered to help her out. On multiple occasions, the rapper has allegedly offered money and bribes to Jennifer Hough and other members of her family. At one point, Hough claimed that her brother was offered $500K by Minaj to get a new statement from her.

Minaj has offered to fly Hough and her family out to California and even suggested that her publicist come and meet Hough so they could start working on recanting her accusation against Petty. Hough has refused all offers.

Jennifer Hough said that Minaj is using her celebrity status to harass and bash her. She had to recently move out of her own home because she kept on getting harassing phone calls and random people showing up to her house and accusing her of lying about the rape.

She is suing the pair for intentional infliction of emotional distress, harassment, and witness intimidation. She is also specifically suing Petty for the rape back in 1994. Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty have yet to comment on the allegations.
