Jennifer Lawrence has been out of the spotlight the last couple years, but her growing baby bump is hard to ignore! This Thanksgiving, she and her husband Cooke Maroney are busy preparing for their first child.

A rep for the actress announced the pregnancy back in September, and J.Law’s fans could not be more excited. She hasn’t yet revealed whether it’s a boy or a girl, and she’s been tight-lipped about the due date. But she has started opening up about becoming a mom.

The actress told Vanity Fair when they interviewed her for their December 2021/January 2022 cover story, that “every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives, as much as I can.”

Someone who can’t wait for Jennifer’s new baby is her mother. Back in 2020, Jennifer’s mom, Karen Lawrence, told Us Weekly that she’s ready for J.Law to be a mom.

She said, “I can’t wait. I don’t think that a grandmother could have too many!”

Karen is already a grandmother to grandchildren from her two sons, Ben and Blaine. And we are guessing that she can’t wait to spoil Jennifer’s little bundle of joy. According to the soon-to-be grandma (again), she spent a lot of time communicating over Facetime with her grandkids during the pandemic. She said that the videos they sent brought her a lot of laughter.

Jennifer might have to set some privacy rules with her mother when it comes to her new baby. Karen wants to be there every step of the way!

According to the actress, she has decided to not discuss her pregnancy or baby during interviews and the couple’s right to privacy is very important to her. In 2017 Jennifer Lawrence explained that she would take a break from acting so she could concentrate on her personal life.

At the time, J.Law had been doing back-to-back acting projects for seven years, and she felt that all the fame was messing with her creativity and mental well-being.

Looking back at her decision to disappear, the actress said, “I didn’t have a life. I thought I should go get one. The attention on me was so high and extreme that, in a bizarre way, the set had become a great escape. Everybody treats you normally. It’s not like you walk into hair and makeup and people are like, ‘Oh, my God!’ But you get burnt out. Eventually I had to ask myself, ‘Am I saying yes because I want to go to work the next day? Or am I doing this because I want to make this movie?’”

Her latest movie, Don’t Look Up, is her first film since that acting break. Jennifer is starring in the movie with Leonardo DiCaprio.

In 2018, Jennifer Lawrence met her husband, Cooke Maroney, and the pair married in 2019. The couple tied the knot in a small Rhode Island ceremony, and the actress said that the pandemic really helped her get to know her husband better. Jennifer revealed that she is a complete homebody. Cooke always makes fun of her because she wants to go back to their apartment right away.

The pair just celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary. But for J.Law it’s not about fancy dinners. She loves doing simple activities with her husband – even going to the grocery store!

Jennifer said, “I really enjoy going to the grocery store with him. I don’t know why it fills me with a lot of joy. I think maybe because it’s almost a metaphor for marriage. ‘OK, we’ve got this list. These are the things we need. Let’s work together and get this done.’”
