Jordan became famous back in 2014 when she premiered on 16 & Pregnant. The MTV show followed teen moms dealing with the joys and worries of impending motherhood. Jordan was joined by boyfriend, Derek Taylor. They both dealt with financial struggles and homelessness. Derek and Jordan were unemployed.

The teen mom’s parents ended up kicking her out after she got pregnant because they didn’t trust her relationship with Derek and Jordan refused to break up with him. Before giving birth to their daughter, Genevieve “Evie” Shae Taylor, the couple was homeless.

After the show stopped filming, Jordan and Derek broke up. The young father later confirmed that Jordan was working at a strip club. She was hospitalized for mental health issues and a possible suicide attempt.

In 2015, the young mother signed over temporary custody rights of her daughter to Derek’s mother. At the time, Jordan was battling addiction issues. In 2017, Jordan Cashmyer was arrested for drug possession, according to Deadline.

Before her death, it appeared that Jordan Cashmyer was working on turning her life around. According to a source, the former reality TV star was celebrating one year of sobriety in Jan. 2021. A rep for Jordan said he was sad to learn about her death and wished more people knew about the strong woman Jordan was becoming.

He said, “This is an incredibly sad day. Jordan was a sweet and caring person. Last we spoke she was doing well and seemed to be in a good place mentally and physically. I wish people had the opportunity to know her beyond her struggles. I was always rooting for her and am grateful I had the chance to know and work with her all these years. Life wasn’t always kind to her so now she is able to be at peace.”

An Instagram post from 2018 showed that Jordan Cashmyer had a new boyfriend and seemed very happy in her life.

She posted a photo of the two of them and said, “I’m not a perfect person, not even close. I’m stubborn and selfish, controlling and possessive. I make a lot of stupid decisions and don’t understand my actions sometimes, but this man has seen, dealt with, helped and loved me through my worst. He has completely changed my feelings about love and life. I’m so proud of this him and feel incredibly blessed to be able to call him “mine”. I’ve kept my joy of posting our life together because of other people and they’re negativity. I’m so happy were at a point in our relationship that irrelevant outsiders aren’t going to affect us. I love you babe.”

Jordan Cashmyer’s family have not released any information about funeral services for the young girl. It is unclear if police will open an investigation into the death or if a cause of death will ever be released.
