Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick are preparing to get married. But first they have to plan the wedding! With Covid-19 delaying nuptials all over the country, the Bachelorette and her fiancé are finding it hard to pen a date, time, and venue.
The setbacks may be delaying the ceremony and reception. But that hasn’t stopped Kaitlyn or her soon-to-be hubby from imagining their dream day. On The Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Kaitlyn teased a potential wedding date, and spilled the beans on how she envisions the day. Hint: It’s nothing like she originally planned.
During the podcast, Kaitlyn Bristowe revealed that she and Jason Tartick aren’t interested in a drawn-out engagement. Instead, they want to tie the knot as soon as possible. They “want a short engagement,” however booking a venue at this point is proving extremely difficult.
“We basically just know that we want it to be hopefully in the summer of 2022 like early summer,” she explained, though that only leaves one year to plan the whole shindig. “We want it to be like super chic and Jason wants it to be big, I want it to be more intimate, so we’re gonna have to learn our compromising skills.”
Kaitlyn wants a formal ceremony filled with glamour and allure, the kind that storybooks are made of. However, that wasn’t what The Bachelorette alum was saying four years ago. “I want it to be like a Great Gatsby black-tie event like very glam which is so opposite of what I thought I would want,” she admitted. “Because four years ago I would have been like, ‘I want bohemian. I want farm style.’”
Still, the couple has plenty of obstacles to get through before they walk down the aisle. They’ll need to choose a venue, lock in a date and, of course, find the vendors! On the podcast, Kaitlyn Bristowe admited they’d met with four planners already, and will have to narrow it down soon.
Kaitlyn Bristowe wasn’t the only one to dish on wedding plans. Jason Tartick told Us Weekly that “from what I’ve heard from friends and family is [there have still been issues] getting the right venue at the right time because so many weddings have been delayed from COVID.”
He continued, explaining that the couple is taking “baby steps” before they meet at the altar. “Let’s take one step at a time and the first step is going to be getting our wedding planner. After the wedding planner, we’ll have to lock in a venue and a location, and then a time. But we just have to wait to see, you know, what the wedding planner suggests and we’re going through that process now.”
Not everything has always been smooth sailing for Kaitlyn. The Bachelorette winner tried to tie the knot with Shawn Booth, but they ultimately broke up in the fall of 2018.
The couple first got engaged in early May when Jason proposed with a gorgeous ring. The answer? A huge yes, of course! Kaitlyn was quick to slide the bling on her finger and present it to the world.
