Kyle Trask, the newest member of the Tampa Bay family, got a surprising offer from Buccaneers QB Tom Brady. Trask, the 2nd-round draft pick, said that superstar Tom Brady wants to be his mentor.
Trask started at the University of Florida before his inevitable NFL draft last week, but things are already starting to heat up for the college football star. The one-and-only Tom Brady, who’s led teams to seven total Super Bowl wins, has offered to start throwing with the new Tampa Bay Buccaneer.
In an interview with the NFL Network, Kyle Trask spoke of his new mentorship, claiming that Tom Brady had already reached out to him following his draft. “He actually did reach out to me a couple of days after the draft,” Trask told the reporter. Brady was “just checking in on when I was going to get into town so that we can get together and maybe do some throwing and things like that. That meant a lot to me.”
Trask continued, expressing his gratitude for his new football family. He said that other teammates reached out to him, as well, offering guidance and support as he makes one of the biggest transitions of his life. Trask said the Buccaneers have a “great culture” and a “great group of people.” The new QB “can’t wait to get started.”
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers just left the last season with an impressive Super Bowl win, crushing Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9. Still, the team is looking for its next big win, and Kyle Trask is ready to lead them in that direction. He said during the interview that “whatever I can do at the end of the day to lead the team in the right direction, I’ll be willing to do that.”
Tom Brady might see something in Trask now that he made it on the team, but the newest Buccaneers quarterback has a support group that’s always known he was destined for stardom. In an emotional scene during the 2021 NFL draft, Kyle Trask received the call that changed his life in a crowded room filled with friends and family.
His mother is seen crying on his shoulder and other family members have teary eyes as they await the final verdict. Then Trask agrees to hop aboard the NFL team and the crowd goes wild. The video was posted on Twitter with a warm welcome from fans and friends alike.
Trask has a long way to go to reach Brady’s status, but with a little bit of help and a lot of time he might break records like his new mentor.
