Marcus Eriz, 24, was arrested along with his girlfriend, Wynne Lee, 23, in connection to the death of 6-year-old Aiden Leos in a road rage incident. The couple was taken into custody Sunday from their home in Costa Mesa, when police finally identified the suspects in the May 21 murder.
Marcus Anthony Eriz, a “gun nut” from Costa Mesa, Calif., is expected to be charged with murder after he fired at a vehicle, shooting and killing Aiden Leos on 55 Freeway. With several photos of his arsenal of firearms and many more of his time at shooting ranges, it is evident that Eriz loves guns.
The incident on May 21 escalated quickly, after Eriz and his alleged girlfriend, Wynne Lee, were driving down the freeway in Orange County. Their white Volkswagen cut off a vehicle, which was being driven by Aiden Leos’ mother, Joanna Cloonan. Cloonan then flipped the bird, sparking outrage from the criminal couple.
Lee slipped the vehicle behind Cloonan’s car, and Marcus Eriz opened fire, though how many shots were fired is still under investigation. One bullet hit Aiden Leos, who was pronounced dead at the hospital. Both Lee and Eriz sped off, leaving the scene of the crime and hiding from law enforcement for more than two weeks.
Marcus Anthony Eriz is being held in Orange County jail on $1 million bail along with Wynne Lee, and both are expected to appear in court Tuesday, June 8. Marcus Eriz is an avid gun nut and can be seen at shooting ranges throughout his Instagram feed.

According to his past employers at Platinum Collision, Eriz had stopped working for them in January. Some have pointed to the fact that Eriz was a capable shot and an avid gun enthusiast, saying that he would have no problem hitting his target, though what his target was is still under investigation. Other commenters are simply seeking justice for Aiden Leos and his distraught family.
