Did Meghan and Harry reveal their baby name? The due date for their little girl is around the corner, and the former royals are super-busy preparing. Beautiful nursery? Check. Baby girl name? Possible check!
Prince Harry, 36, and Meghan Markle, 39, have hinted at possible baby girl names as their second child is on the way. The couple shares a love of monikers. Their son’s name has quite a few hidden meanings.
The Suits alum and the English native named their baby boy Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The moniker paid tribute to Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, since one of her ancestors was named Archibald Campbell, 9th Earl of Argyll, from Scotland. Archie means “true and bold” in Scottish and “truly brave” in German, while Harrison translates to “son of Harry.”
In a CBS tell-all, Harry revealed that the sex of their upcoming child is going to be a baby girl. When Meghan was pregnant with Archie, they received a long list of name ideas. In October 2018 during their Australian royal tour, Harry called Harriet a “great name” for a girl at the time. Three months later during a visit with St. Anne’s Catholic Primary School students, the former royal even asked a mother how she spells the name of her daughter, Lily.
The gender has been revealed. So now the betting has moved to the name. Since Prince Philip passed away, many believe that they will pay homage to Harry’s late grandfather by naming their baby girl Philippa. They wouldn’t be alone in paying tribute to him via their children, Harry’s cousins Princess Eugenie and Zara Tindall both gave their newborn sons the middle name Philip to honor and remember their late grandfather.
Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes says that “the support for baby Philippa is showing no signs of slowing down, and we’ve been forced to trim the odds again that it’s the name for Harry and Meghan’s daughter.” Diana and Elizabeth also seem like very obvious choices for names for their newborn girl, although with the drama from the royals, it’s unsure if they will pay tribute to the Queen in that manner.
While they haven’t revealed their baby girl’s name yet, they did drop hints. As for the due date, we have a better answer there. The baby is due this summer. Meghan was advised in late April not to travel for the funeral of the late Prince Philip. Meghan had one miscarriage. So Harry and Meghan have been extra-careful, especially during the pandemic.
On Valentine’s Day, the dynamic duo announced they were expecting their second child. Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, announced her pregnancy with Prince Harry on Valentine’s Day, as well. If the math adds up, we could be seeing the new baby girl as early as June or as late as July.
The couple was open about wanting two children, and Harry has previously said “to have a boy then a girl — what more can you ask for?”
