Was Michael Che’s Instagram profile hacked? The Saturday Night Live comedian claims that his Instagram account was hacked following the posting of some extremely offensive jokes about Olympic gymnast Simone Biles.

Michael has since wiped his Instagram, changed his password, and posted this on the new account. “Maaannnn, I got hacked today,” he wrote on his Instagram story. “Can’t believe they got me. Yall kno I only do jokes about whites and cops. s’all good now, I changed my password and everything.”

Critics of the comedian have taken to social media to say they don’t really believe the whole hacking excuse. One commenter wrote that “let’s say Michael Che did get hacked, for like 5 seconds, let’s believe that Do you know how f—-g offensive your regular jokes have to be for people to believe everything the hacker said genuinely came from you?”

After Biles removed herself from the Olympic competition saying that she needed to work on her mental health, the comedian took to his Instagram story saying: “Man, I wanna make fun of Simone Biles. I got like 3 mins of Simone Biles jokes in my head.” People flooded his DM’s with their own Simone Biles jokes and Che re-posted many of them on his story, ratings and commentary included.

One of the jokes was about Larry Nassar and the abuse of Biles and hundreds of other gymnasts. Che rated it a nine out of ten. Another was about Biles’ race, which he rated an eight out of ten.

After these jokes were posted, the Internet exploded against Che for the offensive comedy. Della Harrington, a writer, took to Twitter to express her outrage. “Michael Che comes for people he thinks he can get away with dunking on, Harrington wrote.
“Trans women, Black women, sexual assault survivors. Judging by his flimsy ‘I got hacked’ defense, it seems he had no idea how beloved Simone Biles is, or just how messed up it is to share a Larry Nassar joke.”

Simone Biles decided earlier in the week to pull out of the Olympics individual all-around gymnastics competition. She claimed she needed to work on her mental health. Many fans have come out in support of Biles, but the 24-year-old Olympian has also received a lot of backlash for her decision.

On Tuesday, Biles had a blunder during her vault in the women’s team final. Some claim she has developed “the twisties,” and video of her vault shows her getting “lost in the air.” This phenomenon is popular among gymnasts and can cause dangerous injuries to those who typically perform airborne tricks.

One of the biggest supporters of Biles is her boyfriend, Jonathan Owens. He posted a super-cute message to Biles on his Instagram reminding her that he’s always going to be in her corner.

“Your strength and courage is unmatched and you inspire me more and more every day SB🤞🏽,” he said. “You always gone be my champ baby and don’t you ever forget that. I love you so much and I can’t wait till you come home and I get to see that beautiful smile again. You know I’m always here for you baby ❤️❤️.”

The young Olympian has also received support from the former First Lady, Michelle Obama, along with thousands of her young fans. But the incident with Michael Che shows us that there are plenty of people out there who believe Biles has quit the Olympics for pointless reasons.
