Molly Hair is showing the Internet the joys of dating with her new viral TikTok. The young woman posted a video detailing a dating fail. She was on the way to a first date when the potential beau accidently called her a c–t. While the unknown young man tried to take it back, the young woman wouldn’t let him get off so easy.
The TikTok, which is ironically set to the song I Found A Guy Told Me I Was a Star, by Ava Watson, shows a text exchange between Molly Hair and her date where he accidently sent her a text meant for a male friend. He writes, “Waiting on this c–t. I took a pinch of confidence.” The Casanova realized his mistake and offered an apology. He texted, “Omg I was joking with a buddy. I’m going to leave.” He also added two shameful face-palm emojis for good measure.
Hair captioned her video “I was on my way to a first date and this happened. Chivalry is alive #firstdatefail.” The video has already been viewed over 4.5 million times and got 260K likes and 2,000 comments.
According to Hair, she had just parked and was on her way in when she got the message. She said at first she was confused and texted back “what? Am I the c–t,” before politely telling her date that they should just end their relationship there. According to the TikToker, she said, “Yeah to be honest I’m not really comfortable meeting anymore. I just don’t really feel like it’s okay to call women that even as a joke and I see it as a red flag sorry!”
In a second TikTok, the young woman explained that her date tried to call her as she was driving away and even kept on texting her for months. Their date was supposed to be in June and Molly Hair kept on getting texts from him well into October. His last text, sent on Oct. 30, was just a simple “Hey.”
By using TikTok’s green-screen effect, Molly Hair was able to show her followers the real-life text messages, which many of them had begged for.
In one of his early texts he even blamed God for his mistake.
He wrote, “I’m really f–king sorry Molly in no way shape or form that I think of you that way I talk too much and I’m not as funny as I think. I’m not trying to reconcile but I do want to apologize sincerely I’m sorry. I missed out I’m sure,” he said. “I’m sick to my stomach just thinking about it, [it is] God‘s plan I guess. I was so excited to see you I was just trying to be funny with Joe omg.”
While her date did seem embarrassed for his texts, Hair ended up ignoring his requests for a second-chance. She told him that even if he never meant to text her that word, he shouldn’t have used it to joke around with his friend.
The social worker and aspiring singer now admits that she wished she would have just blocked the dude instead of trying to explain his mistakes to him. In her video she said, “The social worker in me just wants to help people to learn and grow from their mistakes. I probably should have just ignored him.”
She ended her video by saying that she saw his frequent messages, even after she started ignoring them, as a red flag.
