A twerking bride has gone viral after a video of her giving her new husband a lap dance in a thong in front of all her guests was dubbed “tacky” and “disgusting.” The video shows Rochelle seductively dancing on her new husband in front of their family and friends. Let’s just say, Twitter users had mixed reactions about the dance.
The video was taken by a wedding guest called @_1karin on Instagram and was later posted on Twitter where it has been viewed over 2.6 million times. Many of the commenters talked about how disgusted they were about the bride’s dance, while others defended Rochelle and said that she could do anything she wanted on her wedding day.
One person said, “Everything in life isn’t just about having fun. Just b/c you CAN do something, don’t mean you SHOULD. Shaking your bare ass in front of you & ur HUSBANDS family/elders and youngins is WILD AF. Don’t master if the couple thinks it’s ok. Something very wrong with their judgement.”
In the video, the bride can be seen pushing a small child away as she walks up to her smiling husband, who is sitting in the middle of the room. Rochelle is wearing a sparkly white apron like dress that has a full open back and thong. Beyonce’s Dance For You is playing.
She twerks on her groom before sitting on his lap and giving him a lap dance. The camera moves over to her bridesmaids who are wearing white dresses and dancing in front of the couple. The bride then starts gyrating on her husband before joining her bridesmaids in the dance.
Next, the video shows the bridesmaids and the bride twerking to City Girl’s Twerkulator. While shaking their asses, the bride gets on all fours and shows off her twerking skills for the whole room.
A lot of people in the video are shocked faces as they videoed the dance. Despite the crowd cheering in the background, many people on Twitter found the whole experience, thong and bare feet included, to be tacky.
One person wrote, “nah doing a lap dance routine for your husband wearing next to nothing in front of his closest friends and both your families is beyond ghetto lmaooo that’s not even the right word to define it yet I can’t even quantify how wildly tacky this is.”
Many people commented on how children can be seen in the background of the video, and some asked if there were any grandparents watching and what they thought about the sleazy display. Someone suggested that the twerking bride should have kept this part of the reception 18 and older.
They said, “This is weird! If that’s your lifestyle, fine, do it together or with y’all friends, since the groom doesn’t mind the homies seeing and filming all of that on their personal phones. But leave the children, parents, aunties and uncles out of it lmao boundaries!”
Others on Twitter supported the bride and said that she could do whatever she wanted because it was her wedding day. One person tweeted and said, “In my opinion, it’s a very mature way of looking at things, it’s your wedding, it only happens once and who says that it has to be traditional and modest. Let people live their lives and have their weddings the way they want.”
Another person loved the sexy lap dance and said, “Honestly I love the idea of people doing their wedding however tf they wanna do it cause it’s their wedding and it’s SUPPOSE to happen once.”
Rochelle has not commented on her viral video, and the wedding guest who posted it to Instagram has also stayed silent on the matter.
