Samaria Jefferson, wife of Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson, had to leave the Super Bowl early because her water broke during the game! The couple celebrated the birth of their second child, a baby boy, along with Van’s Super Bowl win.

According to witnesses, Samaria Jefferson left SoFi stadium on a stretcher. Van didn’t know that his wife had gone into labor until after the game. He was later seen rushing out of the stadium during the Rams Super Bowl celebration.

He said on Instagram Live, “It was a great day, bro. I got three prizes today. My wife, my son and the Super Bowl.” The Rams wide receiver also posted a photo of him holding his son on his Instagram Story. He captioned it, “X2!!!!!”

The couple have not picked a name for their newborn son. They are also parents to 5-year-old daughter Bella.

Sources say that it was Samaria who told Rams coaching staff not to tell Van if she went into labor during the game. The 25-year-old said that she wanted her husband to focus on winning the game, and then he could meet her at the hospital later.

She told The Athletic, “He is going to play. He is going to keep playing,” she said before the game, “I said, ‘You play, I’ll see you at the hospital afterwards.’ That’s what it is. I will never take that moment away from him. I want to see him glorify God on the field that day. … Knowing Van and how he is so caring, he just worries so much about me and the kids. … If I did tell him or someone told him during the game, he would come off that field. We’re saying, ‘Hey, you go play. We’ll see you after.'”

The wife of Los Angeles Rams wide receiver told The Athletic before the 2022 Super Bowl that she was prepared for the baby to come during the game, but that she was praying he wouldn’t. The baby’s due date was originally Feb. 17.

She said, “I’m feeling pretty good — I’m definitely feeling 40 weeks [pregnant],” she told the outlet. “I’m definitely feeling the pressure and the pain. Nerves for Van, nerves for our family — but it’s okay.”

Samaria Jefferson added that despite the chances of her giving birth, she was still going to be in the stands supporting her husband. “Just like any other game, I’m going to be there this Sunday and I’m going to stay calm … and pray to God my water doesn’t break,” Samaria added. “I am 100 percent going to be there. I would not miss this moment for anything. I will be 40 weeks pregnant at the Super Bowl, supporting my husband 100 percent.”
