Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack have moved on with their new significant others, Heather Rae Young and Joshua Hall. But fans of Flip or Flop were hoping that HGTV could keep the show going just a little longer.

It was not to be. After nearly 10 years and 10 seasons, the house flippers announced that their long-running HGTV series would be saying goodbye.

The move doesn’t come as too large of a surprise, since the two hosts have not been a couple since 2018. Though fans of Flip or Flop are saddened to see the show depart, sources close to the hosts told Us Weekly that they simply “weren’t the happiest on set together.”

The series, which chronicled the house flippers as they renovated homes in Southern California, often caught moments of their relationship, which complicated things after their separation.

“They mutually agreed they didn’t want to go forth with another season,” a source told Us Weekly, adding that both of their contracts were also up with HGTV.

“They’re both very busy working on their own projects and have a lot going on in their personal lives,” the source continued. The timing ‘couldn’t be better for the both of them” and making it to Season 10 was a “really big milestone.”

Despite the seemingly amicable split, Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack’s final seasons were complicated by fights and disagreement.

Back in July 2021, Tarek El Moussa caught a lot of heat after he called his ex-wife a “washed-up loser” on set.

Apologizing months later, he half-conceded that “some choice words were said on both sides” and that he was sure they both “wish[ed] the whole thing never happened.”

After the two split, TMZ also reported that witnesses saw Tarek take a gun from his home and leave, though he later stated that he just wanted to “blow off some steam.”

The couple is reportedly no longer a part of each other’s lives outside of co-parenting their two children – daughter Taylor and son Brayden – but are trying to remain amicable.

“Once the cameras went away you noticed a different vibe. They just went their separate ways, did their own thing, and would speak to the cast and crew more than they would each other,” the source continued.

Announcing the move on social media, Tarek El Moussa thanked his fans and promised that he wasn’t going anywhere.

“You guys have been with us through it all—you watched me beat cancer, you’ve watched the babies grow up into the most amazing little humans, and everything in between,” Tarek El Moussa wrote on Instagram. “But I’m not going anywhere and I can promise that you are going to love what comes next!”

His current show, Flipping 101 With Tarek El Moussa, began airing in late 2021. Tarek also moved on with Selling Sunset‘s Heather Rae Young back in October 2021, following two years of dating.

After her split with Tarek El Moussa, Christina Haack married Wheeler Dealers host Ant Anstead in December 2018, and they had one son, Hudson. They ended their relationship one year later, and she is now linked to realtor Joshua Hall.

“I never thought I would have one divorce let alone two. I never thought I would have 2 baby daddies – but sometimes life throws us curveballs,” she wrote on Instagram.

Christina on the Coast, her latest HGTV show, has been airing since 2018.

“It’s a relief for the both of them that they don’t have to work together on set again,” the family insider told Us Weekly. “Now they can focus more on their spinoffs while still giving the fans what they want.”
