Did Tom Cruise gain weight? The actor, who doesn’t make many public appearances, attended a Dodgers game with his son Connor this weekend and his face looked noticeably fuller.
The Mission Impossible actor, who is known for being in incredible shape, seems to have developed a very puffy face. So much so that fans started using the term “chipmunk cheeks.”
Now fans are wondering what’s going on. Some people on Twitter thought the actor might be taking medication that’s making his face fuller. Others thought he got too many fillers at the dermatologist’s office.
Among dermatologists there’s a popular phrase called “pillow face.” Pillow face occurs when a doctor overfills the lines in the cheeks.
One fan took to Twitter and tweeted, “@TomCruise What have you done to your gorgeous face?!!!! I was soooo disappointed when I saw you in the stands at the Dodgers game! STOP putting crap into your face please!!!!”
This isn’t the first time the actor has changed his appearance. The actor is known to change his look every once in a while. In 2002, Tom sported braces to fix his smile.
One Twitter user said the Tom Cruise’s puffy face looks more like steroids.
Some Twitter users even thought Tom Cruise got plastic surgery. Many famous actors have overdone plastic surgery over the years including the late Joan Rivers, Mickey Rourke, and Jocelyn Wildenstein, who went through dozens of plastic surgeries.
And, of course, countless celebs get fillers. The Kardashians are known for over-filling their faces. Even the youngest sister, Kylie Jenner, started getting fillers at a young age. In 2015, Kylie admitted to using filler to plump her lips. At the time, many fans thought she used too much.
On a Keeping Up With The Kardashians episode she said: “I have temporary lip fillers. It’s just an insecurity of mine, and it’s what I wanted to do.” She also said: “I want to admit to [having my lips filled], but people are so quick to judge me on everything.”
Courteney Cox tried fillers and hated them. “You have no idea because it’s gradual until you go, ‘Oh shit, this doesn’t look right.’ And it’s worse in pictures than in real life,” she said in 2017.
“I’ve had all my fillers dissolved. I’m as natural as I can be. I feel better because I look like myself. I think that I now look more like the person that I was. I hope I do.”
Some fans insanely argued that the man in the stands was actually a Tom Cruise impersonator or some sort of “deep fake,” Tom Cruise. Deep fake refers to a type of technology that allows hackers to manipulate an image to make it look like someone else.
The theories went a bit crazy from there. One tweet even suggested that Tom is preparing for a Norm MacDonald bio movie. The famous SNL comedian recently died after a long battle with cancer.
Despite all the weight gain theories, some fans say the 59-year-old actor may simply be aging.
One user tweeted, “Listen i don’t like tom cruise at all (AT ALL), but I’m seriously sick of twitter trashing people for their weight fluctuations. people are allowed to gain and lose weight, and it’s really nunya!!! stop being fatphobic.”
Another person said: “He still looks great for his age. He’s almost 60 for Pete’s sake. I wasn’t expecting the 80s hair plugs though. He must wear some of that hair thickener and lots of make-up for public appearances.”
