Vladimir Putin is allegedly hiding his lover, Alina Kabaeva and their four young children in Switzerland while the Russian leader attacks Ukraine. According to reports, the family is hiding in a “very secure” and private Swiss chalet.
“While Putin carries out his assault on the Ukraine, attacking innocent citizens and causing a refugee crisis, his family is holed up in a very private and very secure chalet somewhere in Switzerland — for now, at least,” a source told Page Six.
A relationship between Putin and Alina Kabaeva has never been confirmed or denied, and it is unclear if the four children are even his. It’s rumored that the couple got secretly married in a Russian Orthodox ceremony. The Russian leader and former gymnast allegedly share 7-year-old twin daughters and two sons. Kabaeva previously denied that she had any children, despite reports that she had given birth.
It is believed that all four children were born in Switzerland, and some sources say that the children and Kabaeva have Swiss passports.
“Alina has two young boys and twin girls with Putin who were born in Switzerland,” a source said. “The kids all have Swiss passports, and I imagine she does also.”
It is unclear where in Switzerland Kabaeva and the children would be if they were, in fact, hiding. Vladimir Putin has previously expressed that he tries to keep his personal life very private and doesn’t like people trying to look into his business.
He said, “I have a private life in which I do not permit interference. It must be respected. I have always reacted negatively to those who with their snotty noses and erotic fantasies prowl into others’ lives.”
Because of the Russian leader’s need for privacy, many are unsure how many children Vladimir Putin has and with whom. Putin was previously married to Lyudmila Shkrebneva from 1983 to 2014. The former couple share two adult daughters, Maria, 36, and Katerina, 35. Some sources allege that Alina Kabaeva was the reason for the Russian president’s divorce and that the former gymnast allegedly pressured him to leave his wife.
A source told The Sun in 2020 that “Putin is an intensely private man – he has been hiding his two adult daughters under fake IDs for years. Even now, though he talks about them occasionally, he never names them. If Alina gave birth to his children, her hiding away might be one of the strongest hints pointing to this. He is obsessive about the security of his family.”
In 2008, Moskovsky Korrespondent tried to run a story that alleged that Putin had divorced his wife and was planning on marrying Alina Kabaeva. The story was denied by the Kremlin and the newspaper was later shut down.
Alina Kabaeva is a retired Olympic rhythmic gymnast and one of the most celebrated gymnasts in her sport. She has won two Olympic medals, 14 World Championship medals and 21 European Championship medals. Kabaeva started her athletic career at the age of three and by 15 she had won her first European Championship and was the youngest competitor on the Russian team.
She went on to win another European Championship in 1999 and then took home the World Title for rhythmic gymnastics in Osaka, Japan.
In 2001, Aline Kabaeva and Irina Chashchina were convicted of doping. They were disqualified and banned from competing in competitions for two years. They were allowed to compete during their second year of disqualification, but only under strict supervision. Kabaeva announced her retirement in 2004, but then came back to the sport before officially retiring in 2007. She was one of six athletes to carry a torch during the 2014 Olympic opening ceremony, which many found controversial because of her alleged relationship with Putin.
Since then, the 38-year-old has moved on and became a Pro-Kremlin member of the Russian parliament. In 2014, she was appointed by the Kremlin to run the state-owned National Media Group. She reportedly makes $10 million a year.
Despite her position in Russian government, Kabaeva is rarely seen n public. It was reported that she hasn’t been seen since 2018. The absence from public life is allegedly because of her relationship with Putin.
