TikTok star Hunter Ecimovic, known as “Echo” on the platform, claimed he groomed actress Millie Bobby Brown when she was only 16-years-old. The social media star ranted in an Instagram Live, alleging that the pair engaged in a sexual relationship while he lived with her and her parents.

The British actress, who played Eleven in Stranger Things, denied the accusations on Tuesday, asserting that she did not have a sexual relationship with the L.A.-based TikToker. Hunter Ecimovic, who is 21-years-old, hosted an Instagram Live on Monday, July 12, and claimed to his audience that he and Millie used to engage in lewd acts together, as part of his wild and salacious claims against the actress.

The TikToker used his platform to spread the allegations, declaring that the scandalous relationship (Hunter was 20 and Millie was only 16) occurred when he stayed with Millie Bobby Brown and her parents. Hunter said that during the eight-month stay, he “thought her mom and dad knew about everything.”

According to Daily Mail, representatives for the Stranger Things star declared the accusations dishonest and said the TikToker was in no way telling the truth. In a statement to the outlet, Millie’s reps said that “Mr. Ecimovic’s remarks on social media are not only dishonest but also are irresponsible, offensive and hateful.”

The rep continued, saying that “instead of engaging in a public discourse with him through the press or on social media, we are taking action to ensure that he stops this behavior once and for all.” It’s unclear what action the actress’s team is taking against the social media personality, but Hunter Ecimovic, or “Echo” has since made an apology video, addressing his actions to his fans.

The relationship, though not illegal in Millie Bobby Brown’s home country, (the age of consent is 16), is a problem in Hunter’s home state of California, in which the age of consent is 18. Hunter was 20 at the time he claims the relationship began, and Millie was only 16. The TikToker claimed in his Instagram Live that he “groomed” the young actress and that their relationship was more than just cuddles seen on TV.

In 2020, Millie and Hunter were spotted together, embracing, and looking ecstatic. In the allegedly dishonest confessional, Hunter Ecimovic told his audience that Millie “used her powers on me and I got manipulated,” referencing her character’s mental prowess in Stranger Things. According to the TikToker, the Godzilla actress “initiated” the relationship and that her parents were okay with it.

When hate started pouring in throughout the Instagram Live chat, the drunken Hunter began to call out his audience, getting defensive and abrasive while laughing it off. “You guys don’t know anything,” he told his viewers. “You guys are just following after one person saying one thing, like, everybody hates him so that everyone’s going to hate me.”

He continued in the comment section, saying that “you guys just follow each other like a big duck followed by little ducks. Whatever the top thing is, you just follow up.” The shirtless Hunter then added: “You guys don’t know the story of anything, and I will never apologize. I hope you know that.”

In the end, he claimed he had “nothing to apologize for. So make that clear. I have zero things to apologize for. You guys do not know a single thing at all.”

In an apology video posted to TikTok (Hunter’s Instagram is currently unavailable), Hunter explained his antics and claimed he was getting “more and more drunk” during the livestream.

“I am sorry,” he admitted in the TikTok. “I’m not proud at all of how I spoke. It sounded very immature, it looked horrible. It looked horrible on my family, it looked horrible on me, it looked horrible on my friends. I am sorry for doing that live stream, I should have ended it the moment it started getting bad.”

“But I chose not to,” He added. “I said what I said, and I can’t take that back. I just want you to know that I’m not OK with what I said. I’m not trying to justify it at all. I just want you guys to know that I’m not OK with how I went about stuff.”

Hunter Ecimovic has over 1.6 million TikTok followers and has amassed over 30 million views on the platform. His claims have been deemed dishonest by Millie Bobby Brown fans, who claim the alleged sexual relationship is disgusting and disturbing. Fans were also upset at the way Hunter described the relationship, referencing his sexual intercourse with Millie and making derogatory comments about her.

During the initial livestream, his friend claimed Hunter used to talk “about how weird the b—h was” and said that she was “obsessed” with Echo. Despite what Millie fans say, Hunter is sticking to his guns.

“I am not digging the grave because everything I did was legal and it was approved by everybody that I was with,” Ecimovic said. There has been no further comment made by Millie Bobby Brown or her representation.
